Matt Grundy joined RIPCO in July 2015 and has extensive experience representing landlords, developers, and tenants throughout New Jersey. Matt has a track record of finalizing deals with national tenants such as Lidl, Dollar Tree, Kiddie Academy, Pearle Vision, Atlantic Health System, AutoZone, Pet Supplies Plus, Starbucks, Chipotle, Playa Bowls, Blue Foundry Bank, and Orange Theory Fitness, among many others. In 2021, Matt was thrilled to watch Lidl (29,000 SF) open in Pompton Lakes after securing a deal with them for a long-time vacant anchor space. Additionally, Matt has been proud to work on the leasing of North Village Shoprite development in Sparta.
Matt’s exclusive landlord representation includes local and regional private owners, as well as a number of publicly traded REITs. He has exclusively represented shopping centers owned by Urban Edge Properties (NYSE: UE), Urstadt Biddle Properties Inc. (NYSE: UBA) & Kimco Realty Corp (NYSE: KIM).
On the tenant side of his business, Matt has been successful representing The UPS Store in 20+ deals, Xponential Fitness in 8+ deals, and is leading the charge in the NJ expansion of Teriyaki Madness. In 2021, Matt was instrumental in helping Verizon Wireless open a flagship store in American Dream Mall, as well as helping his national self-storage client purchase a high-profile site on Route 46 in Denville.
Matt understands whether working with landlords or tenants, the most important aspect of his business is developing lasting relationships which lead to successful deals.
Matt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate and a minor in Economics from Montclair State University. He is a licensed Salesperson in the state of New Jersey and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Born and raised in Bergen County, Matt currently lives in Mahwah with his wife Katie, and daughter Brooke.
