Matt Grundy joined RIPCO in July 2015 and brings extensive experience representing landlords, developers, and tenants throughout New Jersey. He has completed transactions with a wide range of national tenants, including Lidl, Dollar Tree, Kiddie Academy, Pearle Vision, Atlantic Health System, AutoZone, Pet Supplies Plus, Starbucks, Chipotle, Taco Bell, Playa Bowls, Blue Foundry Bank, and Orangetheory Fitness, among many others.
Matt has been deeply involved in several notable ground up development projects across the state, including The Crossing at 10 in Morris Plains (100,000 SF on Route 10), North Village in Sparta (140,000 SF ShopRite anchored center), and a 21,500 SF strip center on Route 46 in Fairfield. His strategic insight helps developers optimize site plans to align with the long term needs of national retailers and franchise operators, contributing to the overall success of each project.
His landlord representation spans local and regional private owners as well as publicly traded REITs. Matt has exclusively represented shopping centers owned by Urban Edge Properties (NYSE: UE), Regency Centers Corporation (NYSE: REG), and Kimco Realty Corp. (NYSE: KIM).
On the tenant representation side, Matt has played a key role in the New Jersey expansion of Shake Shack and Honeygrow, securing more than 15 new locations combined. He also represents The UPS Store (25+ deals), Xponential Fitness (8+ deals), and Turning Point. Matt was instrumental in Verizon Wireless opening a flagship store at American Dream Mall and facilitated the acquisition of two high profile Northern New Jersey sites for a national self storage client.
Matt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate and a minor in Economics from Montclair State University. He is a licensed Salesperson in New Jersey and an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). A Bergen County native, Matt lives in Midland Park with his wife, Katie, and their daughters, Brooke and Parker.
