Dong Bei Restaurant & Bar, known for its Northeastern Chinese cuisine inspired by Harbin, China, has signed a lease for a 2,000 SF former restaurant space at New Hyde Park Place, adding to the center’s growing restaurant lineup.

The restaurant is targeting an early 2027 opening for sit-down dining and takeout.

“Dong Bei brings a distinctive style of Chinese cuisine to New Hyde Park Place and adds to the variety of dining options available to the surrounding community,” said Jason Sobel, Executive Vice President, who is representing the leasing for Benart Realty.

“We’re excited to welcome an established restaurant operator as we continue to build a destination for the neighborhood.”

Dong Bei currently operates locations in Manhattan and Jersey City.

“We’re excited to bring the flavors of Northeastern China to New Hyde Park and introduce our menu to a new Long Island audience,” said Kevin, owner of Dong Bei Restaurant & Bar.

The lease comes as improvements continue at New Hyde Park Place. The building façade renovation is complete, with new fencing underway. Additional signage and parking lot improvements are also planned.

The center’s restaurant lineup includes Tous Les Jours, Soy or Spicy, Guac Shop and Buffalo Wild Wings GO, serving the surrounding community and those working and visiting the nearby Long Island Jewish Medical Center campus, including Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Katz Women’s Hospital.

Redefine Meals, another recent addition to the property, is also expected to open this fall. Joanne Argenti, Vice Chair of RIPCO, represented Redefine Meals in the transaction.
