Kevin Schmitz is Vice President in the Investment Sales group at RIPCO Real Estate. He advises owners on the sale and structuring of a wide range of commercial real estate assets, including development sites, retail, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial, office, and medical properties. Kevin works across Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island and is known for helping both long-term and family-owned property owners navigate complex transactions in a clear, practical way.
In addition to traditional sales, Kevin regularly helps owners evaluate alternative transaction structures such as ground leases and joint ventures, including development opportunities for affordable, mixed-income, and market-rate housing. He has particular experience representing faith-based and nonprofit organizations, helping them understand their options and position real estate decisions to support long-term organizational goals. Over the course of his career, Kevin has been involved in more than $1.5 billion in completed real estate transactions.
Prior to joining RIPCO, Kevin worked as a Director of Capital Markets and Investment Sales at Cushman & Wakefield.
Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance with a minor in International Business from the University of Delaware, including a semester of study in Australia and New Zealand.
Kevin is a member of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, North Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Long Island Real Estate Group, and the New York State Association for Affordable Housing. Kevin grew up on Long Island and now lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Outside of work, he enjoys concerts, travel, running, and spending time outdoors.
